Claremont I - Making a House A Home
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
About The Project
Four years after moving into their custom home, this family wanted to finally finish some areas and update a few others. To start, the lady of the house requested a "pretty master" that would provide a respite from her two active boys and dog. We took design cues from the existing window treatments with their beautiful tape, and reupholstered a family chair in a soft velvet that invites momentary quiet time.
We then moved to other areas of the house, including elevating the powder room with a show-stopping yet hard-wearing vinyl paper and brass accessories, recovering kitchen stools in an indestructible and buttery-soft faux leather, and adding functional seating and surfaces to the primary living room. We incorporated significant pieces - like the family heirloom record player - and accessories from the family travels that result in incredibly functional and meaningful spaces.
